May Update

Normandruth has been entered to run at Monmouth Park on Sunday afternoon in the 9th race, an allowance/optional claiming race going 1 mile on the grass. Originally he was supposed to be running back at Penn National on Saturday but the race didn't fill and we were able to switch course and get him in Sunday's race. The race is an odd mix of formerly promising horses who have for one reason or another not panned out as expected and interestingly enough many are better at shorter distances or on dirt (including us!). Hopefully Normandruth can get a good trip and fire his best shot.

Goonsquad is making her debut in the 7th race at Monmouth on Sunday. She drew post position 6 in an 8 horse field of maiden $20000 fillies going 6 furlongs on the dirt. I believe she will be competitive at this level. Pedro Cotto rides.

Ciampini is making his first start on Thursday at Penn National in the 7th race on the card. He drew post position number 4 in a 6 horse field of PA bred maiden special weight runners. He has trained very well and I expect him to run good.

Rochelle Rochelle didn't seem to handle the speed favoring track at Penn last Wednesday night. She will drop back down to the conditioned claiming level for her next start.

Bourbon County recorded his first official workout today at Westampton going an easy half mile in 51.0. He does everything professionally and should move along in his training quickly.

Outta Jail worked an easy 3/8's  this morning at the training center. She went in 37.80 and galloped out with good energy. She will be headed to Penn soon and should be ready to race in a PA bred maiden race toward the end of June.

Angry Dragon worked out of the gate this morning at Monmouth, going a half mile in 48.20 which was the 3rd fastest of 88 workers at the distance. She needs a few more stamina building works under her belt but isn't far from making her 2012 debut.

Small Town Talk came out of his third place finish last Saturday in good shape. We are looking to run him back on June 2nd at Monmouth in a similar spot.

Mustang Island worked well last Sunday going 5 furlongs in 102.60. He will have 2 more works before his first race of the year which is scheduled to be at Monmouth on June 3rd in an allowance race going 5 1/2 on the turf.

Who We Gunna Call is in at Penn next Wednesday night in the 4th race an optional $25000 claiming race going a mile. We were hoping to find a softer spot for his comeback race but he has trained well and needs to get started again.

Moonstruck Cowboy had his first work for us this morning at Westampton. He went really well going 49.20 over a fairly deep track. Though he was blowing pretty good afterwards, he isn't too far from getting back to the races.

Candy Lass went in 50.10 over an even deeper track later in the morning at Westampton. She is starting to accept being in close quarters with other horses and is training nicely.

Midas Terms worked Friday at Penn going 50.60 for a half mile. That was his third work off of the layoff and he will be ready to run in early June.

Latent Charm worked in 101.60 this morning at Penn which was 4th fastest of 30 horses working five furlongs. She is ready to go and we are looking for a race for her.

Pennypennypenny and Pleasantly Miranda worked at Westampton going in 52 and 52.2. Their paperwork has finally come through and they will be moving to Monmouth this week.

Fusiachi Pegasus scratched last Sunday and we are looking for a good spot for her.

A new horse arrived this week from Ocala. The colt is a NY bred by Utopia out of a stakes placed Louis Quatorze mare named Star Celebrity.

One Time Richie worked today at Penn going 51.00. He is a few works away from being ready to go.

Hippocrates Jones is being pointed to a claiming race on May 30th.

Red Baroness is going to work this week and should be back racing shortly.

Lyle's Angel is also training well and will begin official works shortly.

Ski Bum is getting plenty of miles under his belt as he is growing rapidly into a big 2 year old. He will start doing some gate work and timed works in the coming weeks.
