Grass

Atlantic City Racecourse opens its annual 6 day, all turf meet on Friday and we start off with Red Baroness making her long awaited debut in the 4th race that day. The race is a maiden special weight race going 5 1/2 furlongs and we drew post number 4 in a full field of 12 and Eddie Rivera who rides her in the morning is named on. We are listed at 10-1 on the morning line and post time for the race is 5:00.

On Saturday Hippocrates Jones makes his return to the grass in the 4th race at Atlantic City. The race is a starter allowance race for horses which have raced for $16000 or less and never won 3 races going 1 1/8th. We drew the 7 post in a field of 12 though with his style the post isn't very important.

Fusaichi Pretty is in the first race next Tuesday also at Atlantic City. This will be her first start on her preferred surface, turf, since she sustained an injury last July at Parx. The race is a starter allowance race for fillies that have run for a price of $16000 or less and never won 2 races going 1 1/8. She appears to be the lone speed and if Kristina McManigell can get her to relax just a little bit she will be tough.

We are still running on the dirt and Sweetjudyblue Eyes will also be looking to go wire to wire under McManigell at Penn National on Thursday night. She has drawn outside with post number 7 in the 7 filly allowance race going 1 1/16th. She has trained well and I expect another big effort from her.

Cascades Comet is in on Friday night at Penn National. The race is a MSW for PA bred fillies going 1 mile 70 yards and is the 7th race on the card. She is listed as the 2-1 2nd choice in a field of 6.

Rochelle Rochelle made a triumphant return to Parx on Saturday, capturing the 3rd race by 2 1/2 widening lengths. She loves the Parx surface and will be pointed to a conditioned $7500 race on May 13 there.

Mustang Island worked an easy 1/2 mile in 52.60 today at Westampton. He wasn't particularly winded should round into form quickly. He will be heading to Monmouth next week.

One Time Richie and Extradite worked 1/2 in company with another unraced maiden this morning at Westampton. They went in 50.2 easily outworking the other horse. Both will be heading to the racetrack soon and should be racing sometime toward the end of May.

Outta Jail today had her first work back since her shins started bugging her a few months ago. She was clocked in 37.0 while going very easily under no urging.

Pennypennypenny and Pleasantly Miranda had their first official workout today going in 37.2 at Westampton. Both fillies are doing well and Pennypennypenny is going to be heading to Monmouth Park on Monday to start getting serious about making a start this summer. Pleasantly Miranda worked fine but doesn't really want to sprint and we will be taking a longer route to the races with her.

Angry Dragon had her first work in sometime today going in 37.0 under a strong hold from Eddie Rivera. She is moving in the right direction finally!!!

Small Town Talk has been training well lately and is due to work this weekend. There are a few races coming up at Monmouth and Penn National that he will be considered for.

Who We Gunna Call went very well at Parx yesterday getting 5 furlongs in 101.67 and cooling out quickly afterwards. We are thinking of a race on May 4th at Penn National for him.

Latent Charm worked 49.81 last Saturday at Parx. She will be stretching out to 5 furlongs next work and has done very well in her starting gate schooling. Hopefully if things continue to progress positively she will get to the races toward the end of May.

Ciampini has been very sharp in the mornings, working 48.67 very easily last Saturday at Parx. He will be working from the gate this weekend and will be stretching out to five furlongs after that. He should also be getting to the races towards the later part of May.

Speedy Trial worked an easy five furlongs at Parx yesterday going in 105.10. We are trying to get plenty of air into her as she will most likely debut at two turns and quite possibly on the grass as well.

Lyles Angel started galloping this week as she progresses in her training off of a short break. She has gained quite a bit of weight and it looks like the time off has been good for her.

Classic Maria had a minor setback as she was coming back off of a mid-Winter break but has returned to full training.

Midas Terms is training really well and will have his first work back next week.

Southern Access is recovering from a minor procedure at Dr Scott Palmers New Jersey Equine Clinic. She will be headed back into training soon.

Slumber Smarty was claimed away from us in her last start and already ran back finishing  a well beaten 4th last Saturday at Parx.

Normandruth is doing fine and we are searching for the best possible spot for his next race. Penn National, Parx, Monmouth, Pimlico and Delaware are all possible destinations for his next start.

Goonsquad worked in 103.88 yesterday at Parx. She is not far from being ready.

Malibu Murmur was being pointed towards the Meadowlands turf meet but a minor setback will probably prevent her from making that meet. Look for her in a never won 2 claiming race on the turf next out.
