Sunday Morning Works

Colonel Klink continued to train forwardly this morning, besting workmate Jacques Sparrow in a 4 furlong work from the gate. Klink broke a step slow but quickly picked up Jacques and out finished him by a length at the wire under jockey Diego Rodriguez. Jaques who was ridden by Juan Matos, broke quickly but worked greenly as has been his habit. Both horses were winded after their first gate works which was to be expected. Colonel Klink will probably work with Albin next week going 5 furlongs.

Albin worked an easy half in 51.4, galloping out in 106. He worked without company and as such doesn't put much effort into his solo works. He needs more gate work before he is ready to work from there. He is ready to go a good 5/8ths and will go with the aforementioned Colonel Klink next week.

Mercury Rising worked 4 furlongs in 49.3 in company with an older filly, Fading Light. He was on the inside of the filly under Diego Rodriguez as Fading Light with Matt Straight stayed just to his outside. He finished up well with just a tap on the shoulder to keep him paying attention to his business. He will do some gate work this week and will work another 4 furlongs next week. Fading Light did well in her first work in a few weeks. We weren't looking for anything more than what she did and she seemed to come out the work in good order. After 2 more works we will look for a grass race at AP for her to start her campaign.

Graphite Halo suffered a cut to the front of her left hind ankle, is undergoing antibiotic treatment and is training lightly until everything clears up. Her front ankles which have has some filling in them look very good. She should be back on her work schedule next week.

Sugarland Star has shipped to Bluegrass Equine Center for a brief freshening. She will be turned out in a 2 acre paddock for 16 hours a day and will be heading to the aquatred next week.

Appoint had her first fast gallop in a month Sunday morning. She has been bothered by growing pains and fill in her joints but appears to be back on the right track.

Cool Clue, who has had some issues with tender feet, remains in light training and we will wait until his feet are no longer an issue before we resume heavy training.

Normanruth has been doing well in his training after getting a little behind while we were waiting for him to grow. He does everything correctly, he just needs experience and miles under his belt.

Operetta Italiano galloped in company with Basketwoman with those two picking up the pace the last quarter mile in around 28 seconds. they will have several strong gallops before we ask them to work an official 3 furlongs. Both are rangy types that are not made to sprint and there is simply no need to rush them to get ready for races that they are not suited to anyway.

Comeback has had a reaction to leg paint in his left front resulting is skin soreness and will simply jog until the issues has resolved itself.

Carl S. 'two minutes licked' the last part of his gallop and is getting closer to an official work, most likely in around 10 days.

Campaneris is just beginning to gallop, most days jogging 1 1/4 miles before galloping a mile. She is behind the other 2 year olds because she spent most of the spring growing up while turned out. She will not run until the fall at the earliest.

Ships Cabin schooled in the gate at Arlington park. He is scheduled to work again on Wednesday which will be his first polytrack work since April when he got the bullet at Keeneland for 3 furlongs. A couple of more sharp works and he will be ready to debut.

Bob's Bean has had her shoes pulled and is headed for the farm this week. We will do some therapy on her and give her a little time in the field.

Richwood Silver returned to regular training this week after a brief period of downtime. Her legs are tight, her weight is good and she is ready to begin her comeback after 2 tough races. Targeting August for her return which could come anywhere from AP to Presque Isle.

Hacker Craft is plugging along towards his next race which looks like July 10th for the same price (10000 nw3lt).

Makutus made his return to dirt training memorable by dumping Cherie after he galloped and ran around the barn area. He will be going with the pony from now on.

Bubble Berry is all set for her race on Friday.

E Major is training well leading up to her next race which will be on July 11th at AP, going 6 1/2 furlongs on the polytrack. She worked 5 furlongs in 102.3 on Saturday and will have one more work before she runs.

Possee Valley and Sumwonlovesyou are shipping to Bluegrass Equine Center later this week to begin the next phase of their rehabilitation which will include hyperbaric oxygen treatment and aquatred training.

Galaxy Lady came out of her second place finish in good shape and may be running on July 10th at Ellis Park.

Rain Shower was originally scheduled to run on July 5th but we are looking towards a different race now.

Inky Blandford has minor shin issues which aren't unusual for a big 2 year old at this time of the year but will continue in light training.
