Fall Update

It is almost Fall (1 day to be exact) and that seems like a good time for an update on the stable. Monmouth Park is winding down, the Meadowlands book is out, Penn and Parx march on and we are looking at expanding our racing options both North and South as Laurel and Belmont enter the equation for some of our runners.

We have some new faces at the barn since our last update and some of the old ones have moved along as well. Normandruth and One Time Richie were both claimed out of winning efforts and Who We Gunna Call was claimed at Monmouth while finishing 2nd (ironically to Normandruth) after winning a pair of races at Penn National. Classic Maria returned to Canada to run in Ontario bred races, Fusachi Pretty went to Canterbury where she won a race and was retired afterwards. Speedy Trial turned out to be not so speedy and is now working at her 2nd career as a polo pony. Extradite wasn't able to vercome his injuries to become a racehorse and hs been being retrained as an eventing horse. Red Baroness has been retired and will be bred next spring. Hippocrates Jones was no longer competitive and was sold.

We have picked up some really nice prospects over the last few months. We have had Coax Liberty for a little over a month as she recovers from a minor injury. Owned by Copper Penny stable, she is a two time stakes winner who is also graded stakes placed and we are looking forward to getting her back to the races. Also owned by Copper Penny stable, Made to Love Her is due to arrive this week from South Carolina. She won the Moccasin stakes last November at Hollyood Park and was 2nd in the grade 2 San Ynez in January. Also coming in are a pair of NY breds by the young sire Frost Giant, Frostys Whirl, a 2 year old colt and Frosty Merry Eri, a 2 year old filly who are both owned by Andrew Cohen. He also sent Verveitup a 6 year old gelding whose main claim to fame is being a half brother to Eclipse award winning sprinter Benny the Bull. Gumtree Stable of Laura and Larry Ensor sent us a sharp looking PA bred daughter of Fairbanks named I Can See Russia who has been training forwardly for her debut. Oklahoma Den is another new face. He is a 3 year old NY bred gelding by Utopia who has been training at Monmouth and is owned by a partnership of Paul Harte, Tina and George Dennis and Teresa Pryor.

Since the last update we have had several winners. The aforementioned Normandruth who won a 16000 claimer on the turf at Monmouth; One Time Richie who broke his maiden at Penn National; Who We Gunna Call, who won twice on dirt at Penn National sandwiched around a dull effort on the turf; Moonstruck Cowboy who broke his maiden at Penn on August 15th. Small Town Talk didn't win but ran two very good races when coming in 3rd in both the Majestic Light stakes on Haskell day and in the grade 3 Iselin stakes a few weeks later. Latent Charm broke her maiden in her first try around two turns at Penn National just last night.

Moonstruck Cowboy is entered in tonight's 7th race at Penn National which is a 16000-14000 nw 2 race going 6 furlongs. He has trained well and stands a good chance of he can get a good trip like he did in his last race.

Mustang Island is also in tonight at Penn in the 1st race, a dated $15000 claimer on the turf. This is the softest competition that he has faced since he arrived at our barn last summer and he should be tough in there.

Small Town Talk is scheduled to work tomorrow morning at Monmouth Park. We are targeting the Micheal Schaeffer Mile at Hoosier Park on Indiana Derby day, October 6th.

All Peace N Quiet is entered to run at Penn National on Wednesday in a Maiden 20000 race going 1 mile on the grass.

Candy Lass has been the most unlucky horse around as she never seems to catch a break at the entry box or with the weather.

Angry Dragon is going to try to break her maiden on Saturday night at Penn National's 7th race, a maiden 16000 claimer going 6 furlongs.

Bourbon County has shown some ability in his works but his body isnt keeping pace with the calandar and we are waiting for a bit more maturity before we press on with more speed work.

Coax Liberty is progressing nicely and we are gradually increasing her work load as she recovers from a minor injury.

Frosty Merry Eri is on a strict diet as she needs to lose some weight before she does any serious training.

Frostys Whirl is getting some work done on his shins and will be returning to training shortly.

Goonsquad is at Westampton doing some rehab work prior to return to the racetrack.

I Can See Russia is going to work 1/4 mile tomorrow morning after doing some gate work this week. She should be ready to breeze 3/8ths next week for her 1st official work.

Latent Charm came out of her winning effort last night in good shape albeit somewhat tired. We may look for a grass race for her next race as last nights was rained off of the turf and I really want to try her on it before the season is over.

Lyle's Angel is at NJ equine recovering from having a chip removed in July. She will be returning to training shortly.

Made To Love Her is arriving tonight from South Carolina. She will start training on Sunday after getting a day to settle in to her new barn.

Malibu Murmur is scheduled to work tomorrow morning at Monmouth and we are pointing to opening weekend at the Meadowlands for her first race since the Spring.

Midas Terms was scratched last night after popping a small abcess in one of his front feet. He should be back in the entries soon.

Oklahoma Den is also going to work tomorrow morning at Monmouth. We are going to go 1/2 mile from the gate and he will be going for his gate card.

Outta Jail is heading back to training after having a minor procedure done last week.

Pennypennypenny is back galloping after being sidelined with sore shins.

Pleasantly Miranda is going to work tomorrow at Monmouth.

Rochelle Rochelle is trail riding on a farm in PA and will soon be coming back to full training

Ski Bum is now at Penn National and is in full training.

Southern Access is at Monmouth Park and is going to work tomorrow morning and should be ready to roll at the Meadowlands.

Sweetjudyblue Eyes is back training at Westampton where she seems to do better than on track.

Verveitup arrived at barn 12 at Penn National this morning.
